I draw on the humanistic approach and aim to focus on understanding your unique perspective and experiences. I am a counsellor currently working within the NHS, where I hold dual roles in both a NHS Talking Therapies Service and a Staff Psychological Support Service. In these positions, I provide therapeutic support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges, as well as offering psychological support for NHS staff.
Before my current roles, I worked as a bereavement counsellor in a hospice, where I provided palliative emotional support and bereavement counselling to individuals and families navigating end-of-life. This experience deepened my understanding of grief, loss, and the profound emotional needs of patients and their loved ones during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
I also spent several years working with a mental health charity, offering specialised counselling for the LGBTQIA+ community. During this time, I developed expertise in providing affirming, empathetic care to individuals dealing with the unique challenges related to identity, coming out, discrimination, and mental health issues within the LGBTQIA+ population.
Prior to transitioning into counselling, I worked in the charity sector for over 10 years for a leading young people's mental health charity.
My Specialisms are working with:
Areas of Interest:
Anxiety, depression, stress, problems at work, loss/grief/bereavement, life changes, decision making, LGBTQIA+.
Above is a summary of the areas I work with, however I believe our connection is the most important thing. If you contact me we can discuss sessions and we can decide together whether we can work together in a free 30 minute intro session (details below).
